This is Kerry Wells first year at Venture. So far, her career has encompassed a full range of teaching: Kindergarten, middle school Drama, 8th GATE Language Arts, Reading Development, 8th Grade Core (at wonderful Windemere!), ELD, Writing Proficiency, high school English (9-12), Yearbook and service as a Medical Home Teacher for the SRVUSD. Growing up in Stockton, Kerry always knew she’d be a teacher (eight of her family members are in Education) and earned her B.A. in English from Chico State, along with a Single Subject Credential. College summers were spent working as a blackjack dealer at Caesar’s Lake Tahoe (now the Montbleu Resort) where Kerry learned “the house will always win in the end!”
Mom to two active middle school students, Kerry spends many hours on the soccer field and in the bleachers of basketball courts. When not marveling in the mysteries of adolescence from a mother’s perspective, she enjoys her own fun. Her passions are hiking, theater going, dog park playing (with her Red Merle Aussie), experiencing live music, discovering new restaurants, reading, and traveling to near and distant lands.
More than anything, Kerry enjoys teaching and is sure Venture is a perfect place to uniquely interact with students.
